How to Move Money Between Your Pana Account and Interactive Brokers (IBKR)

If you use Interactive Brokers for investing, you can send funds from Pana to fund your investment account.

🟢 Sending Money from Pana to IBKR (Depositing into IBKR)

To ensure your deposit arrives smoothly and doesn't get lost in IBKR’s general omnibus account, follow these steps:

1. Get your "Direct Deposit" details from IBKR

Do not use generic Wire transfer instructions.

  • Log in to the IBKR PortalTransfer & PayDeposit Funds.

  • Select Direct ACH Transfer from your Bank.

  • IBKR will provide you with a Routing Number and a unique Virtual Account Number (VAN).

  • Note: Using this VAN prevents the deposit from getting lost or requiring manual matching.

2. Initiate the transfer from Pana

  • Open the Pana AppSend/Withdraw.

  • Paste the Routing Number and VAN provided by IBKR.

  • Important: Ensure the amount you send covers any fees. If IBKR expects one amount but receives another (due to network fees), the deposit may be marked as "pending review."

  • Simultaneously: Create a "Deposit Notification" in the IBKR portal ("Transfer & Pay" section) to alert them of the incoming funds. Include the exact net amount and currency to ensure fast credit.

⚠️ Is your IBKR deposit missing?

It is common for IBKR not to credit funds automatically for the following reasons:

  • Net Amount Mismatch: If you sent $1,000 but $997 arrived after fees, IBKR’s system may fail to "match" the transaction.

  • Missing Notification: If you didn't use a VAN, you must create a Deposit Notification in IBKR for the exact amount that will arrive.

  • Third-Party Deposit: IBKR may reject funds if the sender's name does not exactly match the IBKR account holder's name.

🆘 What to do if the funds don't arrive

If the status in Pana shows as "Processed" but the funds are not in IBKR:

  1. Request the ACH Trace Number from our support team (or find it on your receipt) via the in-app chat or at support@getpana.app.

  2. Open a ticket in the IBKR Message Center.

  3. Provide the following: Exact net amount, Date, Originating Bank (Lead Bank), and the ACH Trace Number.

⏱️ How long does it take?

  • ACH (Pana ↔ IBKR): Generally 1 to 3 business days.
